    Introduction

    The D500 Series card is the industry's first high density affordable PCI Express voice transcoding card designed for optimum voice quality for low to high density systems, offering from 400 to 2000 transcoding sessions (2-legged calls) in one compact 2U form factor! 

    • Card is Ethernet based
    • system will recognize it as a Broadcom BCM5723 ethernet device.
          --> Linux: Broadcom driver tg3
       
    • Has been designed with a general SNGTC API interface that can be used to develop transcoding applications
    • All media to and from the D500 card will be carried via RTP/IP
    • Codec licenses are fully upgradable
    • Works with Asterisk & FreeSWITCH as a codec module
    • Supports the following codecs (G729 is fully indemnified- no need to pay extra):

     Known Issues

    •  Asterisk codec module not supported for Asterisk 1.2 
    • Broadcom has released a new ethernet tg3 driver for the D500 PCIe card
      that fixes a lot of  issues on new servers.
    • It is highly recommended to install this driver before proceeding with sngtc installation.
