No Caller ID - Vega R2 Link (ITU)

    Thursday, June 7, 2012

We've recently had a few questions about R2 CID not working in locations on ITU R2 Links. The reason is the ITU spec does not by default request CID info, but on many links CID is available. So to make the Vega request CID info you will need to make some configuration changes. Below is the URL with full details on this.

NBE - Caller ID Not Working In Some Cases (Analog)

    Thursday, May 31, 2012

We've recently had a few questions about analog CID not working in locations such as the UK. The reason is in some locations the FSK data (caller ID) is sent before the first ring. Now in order to get NBE working with this type of CID you need to make a few configuration changes. Below is the URL with full details on this.

NSG - Password Change Updated for Binary

    Tuesday, May 1, 2012

We've updated our NSG page with steps on how to change the password on the Binary release. This is a recommended step for anyone using NSG as the default passwords are only meant for the first log in. If the default password is left this creates a security risk as the log in is easy to guess. If you have any questions contact technical support for more info.

    New Transcoder Test

    Thursday, March 1, 2012

We now have a new page for testing the transcoder. This allows you to simply run a set of predefined commands to convert a GSM file to g729 then to WAV. Once done just listen to the WAV file and if it sounds good your card is setup and ready to be used by Asterisk/FreeSWITCH or your custom application.

Below is the link for more info on how to do this.

    New NBE FAQ Pages!

    Thursday, February 23, 2012

A common issue we are seeing with NBE on analog cards is hangup detection issues. So this is when you call into NBE from the Analog side and connect to a SIP phone, then you hangup from the Analog side and the call stays connected. The issue here is on analog the telco will signal the hangup in different ways. NBE out of the box will work in most cases but in some locations "sit tone" hang up detection needs to be enabled to detect the signal being sent from the telco.

Another common issue is outbound calls not working. So this can be due to two simple reasons, NBE sends the number out to the telco too fast as some telcos need more time. The other is NBE is waiting for dial tone and dial tone is not detected correctly by NBE due to location or other reasons such as voice mail on the telco side. Since NBE detects the line by voltage the dial tone check can be disabled and calls will work great.
