Vega 50 FXO & Trixbox

    1) Log into your Trixbox UI then select "PBX" from the top menu. Then go to the "Trunks" section and click "Add SIP Trunk" to create the SIP trunk to connect with the Vega.

    2) Once the trunk is created just simply add the info circled below. Also in the peer details insure the "host" is changed to the IP of the Vega gateway. Note the dial rules may need to be changed, you can use the dial rules Wizard to do so.

    3) Next in the incoming settings fill in the info that is circled and also in the peer details insure the "host" is changed to the IP of the Vega gateway. Once done click "Submit Changes".

    4) Once changes are submitted you need to apply them, click on "Apply Configuration Changes" in the top of the Trixbox UI.

    5) Then click "Continue with reload" as shown below to apply the changes.

    6) Next go into the webui http://<IP of Vega>/ . The default user is admin and password is admin.

    7) Once in the webUI go into Quick Config as shown below.

    8) Click "Continue" on the screen below.

    9) Next go to "VoIP" tab and fill out the info circled below. Replace the IP 192.168.1.133 with the IP of your Trixbox. Once done click Submit.

    10) Click "OK" on the next window to apply the settings.

    11) Then select "Continue" on this window.

    12) Next go to "Expert Config->Dial Plan" then go to "Call Presentation Groups" then add a new group to the list and enter a name for it. Once this is done insure the enable box is checked and set the interface number to "0600" then in the destinations field enter all the FXO interfaces. On this system there is only two so "IF:0201|IF:0202" if you have four it would be "IF:0201|IF:0202|IF:0203|IF:0204". Once done click Submit.

    13) Next go to "Expert Config->Dial plan" then click "Modify" next to the To_FXO dial plan.

    14) Once in the To_FXO dial plan delete the entry by checking the DEL box and clicking Delete.

    15) Click OK on the dialog box the comes up.

    16) Now that there is only one rule edit the "Source" and "Destination" fields to be as shown below. The source rule allows the source to be any number coming from SIP. Then the destination rule sends the call to the presentation group made in step 12. 

              Source-  "IF:99..,TEL:<.*>"

              Destination- "IF:0600,TEL:<1>"

    17) Next step is to go to "Expert Config -> Dial Plan" then click Modify on the To_SIP dial plan.

    18) Once in the To_SIP dial plan edit the "Source" and "Destination" fields to be as shown below. The source rule allows the source to be any number coming from FXS,FXO. Then the destination rule sends the call to the first and only SIP interface with the DID "123" this can be changed to be any DID that you would like. 

              Source-  "IF:0[1234].."

              Destination- "IF:9901,TEL:123"

    19) Next step is to enable caller ID by going to "Expert Config -> POTS" then in the first row with port ID "ALL" change the caller id drop down box to ON. Once this is done click Submit. Then after the CID is enabled to enable hangup detection go to the FXO Port Hardware Profiles as shown below and change the "loop current detect" from "0" to "500" then click submit. This type of hangup detection is the most common on north american lines and is also used word wide as well. If hangup issues still occur there is other hangup detection features below also there is the "Expert Config -> Tones" for detecting busy tones; as this is one type of hangup detect that can be used.     20) Now that caller id is enabled we need to define the type of CID being used. To do this go to "Expert Config -> Advanced" then go to CLI command and type the command "set pots.profile.2.callerid_type=gr30-mdmf" then click submit. This will run the command on the Vega's CLI.

    21) Once the command is ran you will get a popup window showing the following.

    22) Next to apply all changes run the command "apply".

    23) Next to save changes so the config will not be lost on reboot run the command "save".
